1st homework - Summary

Please copy the following passage and write a summary of not more than 60 words.

Why do young people waste their time, loafing at shopping complexes, easting outlets and recreational centres? Why do they regularly while away their time at these so called hangouts with their friends? Don't they have better things to do?
A recent survey among the youths who idle their time reveals that poor home environments is the common root cause. Some of them come from broken homes. They feel bored and neglected living with uncaring parents, so they loaf in their quest for peace.
Some of them come from well-to-do families. They receive too much pocket allowance from their wealthy parents and that enables them to spend their time with their friends at public places.
Young people of today are under tremendous pressure to excel in their studies. Sometimes, they just cannot take the pressure anymore and they have to get away from it all by having some fun with people their age.
To curb loafing, parents should spend more time at home with their children. A loving and caring home creates an atmosphere conducive to children spending their time on useful indoor hobbies on their own or with their parents and siblings.
Home is the place where they can share their problems and exchange ideas with members of the family instead of turning to their friends for help at hangouts and shopping malls.
In this way, young people will be motivated and have a sense of direction and purpose in life.

Write a summary on loafing among the youths of today.
